Jacqueline Cieslak's new cottage cardigan pattern oooozes cottage core and hits the spot with the throw-on-over-anything we crave from our precious knits.

Worked from the top down entirely in one piece, the design features raglan construction, a button band worked as you go with a slipped stitch selvage, and classic 1x1 ribbing on the cuffs and hem. The pattern includes 9 sizes and an optional adjustment for customizing the sleeve length.

Good Wool kits include:

  • Naturally dyed Merino-Linen (90/10%). Super soft single spun merino with pops of linen for extra cute cottage vibes. 360m (394y) per 100g skeins
  • 6 x handmade ceramic buttons
  • Cottage Cardigan pattern (a digital copy will be gifted to you electronically)

Mohair-silk yarn is listed separately if you choose to hold double.

Sizing
It is recommended you check sizing on the pattern description (links below) to select your size for this listing. The size option brackets correlates with the pattern sizing. Most yarn colourways won't be repeated.

You can view the pattern description and check sizing information on the following links:

If you find you sizing is sold out in your preferred colour, please be in touch as I might be able to change quantities.

Buttons & pattern
Please email goodwoolnz@gmail.com with your choice of buttons from the numbered photo on this listing. There is limited supply of each button design, they are allocated on a first in first served basis.

The bigger of the two sizes is 25mm width, smaller is 17mm.

Please include in your email if you'd like the pattern as a PDF via email or sent to your Ravelry username.

Colour selection
Please select your yarn colour on the drop down selection box and double check it matches the yarn in the image.  If you select colour by photo, this doesn't correct the down selection.

If you find you sizing is sold out in your preferred colour, please be in touch as I might be able to change quantities.

Small lot dyeing means colour differs from batch to batch, and often within the same dye lot - the charm of natural dyeing. I recommend you alternate skeins when working on garments. I do my best to represent colours accurately in images, but they can differ. Different monitors & devices can show different shades of the photo.

Yarn/garment care
Each skein has been hand dyed with natural resources. Handwash your garment with pH neutral detergent (I recommend this for superwash treated and non-treated yarns) and dry in a shady spot. Store your naturally dyed garments out of direct sunlight.

For best care of your handmade ceramic buttons, cover each one gently with tinfoil before washing.

This yarn is an imported base, a blend not available in Aotearoa/New Zealand. The superfine merino is grown & spun in South African, the linen is from Belgian. It is superwash treated.
